Stuffed nose is a common problem in bone-chilling winter. However, a stuffed nose can be cleared out by following a few simple steps.
Steaming is a good way to clear-up the blocked nose. Hot steam will add humidity and clear the congestion. Adding a pinch of menthol may help you to get rid of the stuffiness and throat irritation.
Honey & coconut oil:
Honey and coconut oil boost the immunity system. Honey contains anti-bacterial agents which help fighting flu and cough. Coconut oil prevents inflammatory diseases. Mix one teaspoon of honey and one teaspoon of coconut oil together and warm-up. Sip the honey and coconut oil mix twice a day to prevent cold and stuffed nose.
Honey & Cinnamon:
Honey and cinnamon tea is a good source to prevent cold. Both honey and cinnamon contain anti-bacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal elements which prevent stuffed nose and throat irritation. A warm cup of tea mixed with one teaspoon of honey and a stick of cinnamon will reduce the irritation and be clogging up.
Applying warm compress:
A warm compress in the face and head will allow the congestion to get cleared up. Take a towel or a clean cloth and soak it in warm water. You may add a slice of ginger to the water. Make sure the cloth is cold enough so that it doesn’t burn your skin. Rinse the water and then apply the cloth to your nasal area. Apply for 10-15 minutes for better results.
Take a warm shower:
Often a warm shower helps to prevent clogged nose. If you have a tub, you can take a warm bath first. Adding a few drops of eucalyptus oil will add to the water will ease the clogging. Although the benefits of a warm shower may not last for a long period, it will give you temporary relief.
